"Unforgotten" One-of-a-kind, Handmade Pendants
My “Unforgotten” Pendants are/ were part of my first Kickstarter. They sold out twice <3 I am so grateful that so many of you have resonated with them.
I create pendants that are a combination of my favorite things, drawing, sculpture and bits of all of the magical items I've collected. This is my way to immortalize and honor the washed up forgotten souls I find under foot on my nature walks.
I am enamored by nature, all of its glorious textures and the creatures we share our world with. But equally intriguing is what is left behind when things die... Among the plant matter, I find insects, fish and animals that have passed on. I often sit there with them and imagine what its life was like and what brought them to that spot for me to find. I form a shrine around their body using whatever shells, rocks, twigs and flowers I can find to honor and respect them.
Certain things from this process call out to me, they want me to take them home. Bones, driftwood, shells, leaves... they all have energy and a story. I can help tell theirs by preserving and arranging the pieces in a new order in the form of sculptures and pendants. By combining these elements a new energy is formed and they are remembered.
We share this planet with beautiful, amazing, important creatures. By becoming a "Keeper" of an Unforgotten you help me keep their spirit alive. We're reminded that there are micro worlds out there and that they all matter.
